Perhaps lesser known than its famous neighbors - Charleston, South Carolina to the North and Savannah, Georgia, to the South, Beaufort, South Carolina, is a treasure chest of sights and events.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of the Lowcountry, Beaufort, South Carolina, boasts a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1711, making it one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. The town's historical significance is evident in its well-preserved antebellum architecture, historic streets, and lush landscapes, which together create an inviting atmosphere that transports visitors back in time.

Best known perhaps as the backdrop for iconic films such as "Forrest Gump," "The Prince of Tides," and "The Great Santini," Beaufort's picturesque scenery serves as more than just a cinematic setting; it is a vital part of the town's charm and allure. The stunning waterfront views along the Beaufort River, framed by majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss, offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Visitors can stroll along the scenic waterfront park, where they can enjoy the gentle breeze and watch boats glide by, or take a leisurely walk through the historic district, where each building tells a story of the past.

Beyond its visual charm, Fall in Beaufort comes with the arrival of some pretty unique events, including the "Run Forrest Run"  inspired by the beloved character Forrest Gump, known for his iconic running scenes throughout the movie. The Run Forrest Run 5K, which launches Beaufort's annual Shrimp Festival, takes participants through famous movie locations. Runners channel their inner Forrest and Jenny, traversing areas featured in the film, such as the Wood's Memorial Bridge.
